SUMMARY OF DUTIES:
This position will support Amtrak's Stations Design Team by performing tasks as directed by department design professionals.

ESSENTIAL FUNCTIONS:
• Search for, and file, drawings and documents in department document library.

• Perform design and drafting on AutoCAD .

• Edit, revise and publish written construction project specifications manual.

• Revise and publish scopes of work.

• Manage department master specifications library.

• Assist in document reproduction .

• Perform calculations for review and approval by professional .

• Assist with correspondence .

• Assist with internal survey to support internal design projects .

MINIMUM QUALIFICATIONS:

Must be actively pursuing a degree at an accredited educational institution.

Must be actively pursuing an undergraduate degree in Engineering or Architecture.

Must have at least 1 year of academic undergraduate studies completed or a sophomore status at minimum.

Must have a cumulative GPA of 3.0 or higher

Must be available to work a minimum of 15 hours per week between the days/hours of Monday – Friday, 8am – 5pm.

PREFERRED QUALIFICATIONS:
• AutoCAD design and drafting experience highly preferred.

• Two or more years of academic experience preferred, or Junior status. Graduate degree also preferred.

• Ability to successfully manage multiple tasks .

• Desire to pursue building design career.

• Interest in railroad transportation industry.

• Strong proficiency with Microsoft Office applications .

• Strong analytical and problem solving skills
