CHA Consulting Inc. is currently seeking a Traffic & ITS Section Manager to join our Traffic & ITS group in our Indianapolis, IN office.

CHA's Traffic and ITS team provides planning, analysis, modeling, and design development for public and private sector clients. Our team of traffic engineers, transportation planners, and technical staff provide a comprehensive breadth of knowledge and experience in all facets of modal mobility, accessibility, safety, technology, and deployment. From roadside sign inventories and safety audits to the latest intelligent transportation system (ITS) innovations and applications, our professionals are adept at managing the entire design development and implementation process.

At CHA, our Section Managers lead design development and recommend solutions to teammates at the highest quality and standards. In this key leadership role, the Section Manager work closely with the Traffic & ITS Team Leader for the hiring, promotion, recognition, and overall growth and performance of the technical staff within the team. Our Section Managers provide critical mentorship to their team members, while developing goals and providing career guidance.

Our Section Managers play an important role in planning staff allocation and project financial performance, developing scope of work and fee estimates for projects as well as assigning Technical Task Managers. The Section Manager matches staffing levels with workload by assessing backlog and continually communicating with Project Managers. They also balance maximizing technical staff utilization goals with successfully meeting project goals relative to delivering scope, schedule and budget.

Bachelor's degree required
• PE Required; PTOE preferred

• 3 years of related technical experience is required
• INDOT design & analysis experience preferred
• Indiana client relationships preferred
• ITS design experience preferred
• Previous management experience preferred
• Traffic simulation software experience required (VISSIM, Synchro, SimTraffic, HCS, Sidra, etc.)
• Microstation experience is a plus
• Technically astute to manage the activity within the discipline
• An articulate and persuasive communicator, both one-on-one and in front of large groups
• A high energy, results-oriented, resourceful leader
• Ability to resolve matters that arise within the discipline
• Experience with project budgeting preferred
• Demonstrates a basic understanding of accounting processes
• Demonstrates knowledge of the discipline's technical processes
• Travel as needed required to offices where staff is located
