CHA has an extensive and competitive Summer Internship Program. Our summer program aims to prepare students for the professional working environment and provide them with the best resources to be successful in their future careers. Over the 8 to 12-week duration of CHA's summer internship program, our interns participate in authentic learning experiences that help them improve and develop skills.

CHA Consulting, Inc. is currently accepting applications for our 2021Summer Internship Program which includes Architecture, Civil Engineering, Electrical Engineering, Environmental Engineering,Mechanical Engineering andProject Management/Construction Managementto join our organizationacross our entire geographic footprint.

ESSENTIAL DUTIES AND RESPONSIBILITIES

Architecture

CHA provides full-service, community-based architectural, interior design, and planning services focused on the design of sustainable, high-performance buildings in the education, health care, multi-family housing, office/corporate, and VA sectors.CHA Architecture, A CHA Company, is committed to sustainable design practices and providing innovative solutions that embrace technology and best practices. We work hand-in-hand with our clients throughout the entire project providing guidance on critical decisions regarding sustainability, researching technologies, and evaluating benefits and costs. We believe in design that meets our clients' needs and responds to the natural environment and community values.

Civil Engineering

Aviation

For more than half a century, CHA has provided planning, design, construction, and asset management services to the nation's top airports. Through this work on countless aviation projects totaling hundreds of millions of dollars, we have built strong working relationships with the FAA and state transportation offices. We have an in-depth understanding of state and federal regulations as well as the technical requirements and challenges faced by modern airports. Our clients have confidence in our work, often engaging us in multi-year term and on-call agreements. They appreciate our focus on minimizing disruptions to operations while maximizing airport revenues.

Land Development

With thousands of land development projects completed across the country, CHA has the permitting, engineering and construction experience necessary to expedite project approvals and deliver projects on time and on budget.CHA has completed over 2,000,000 square feet of shopping mall and free-standing retail space in Texas, Louisiana, and Mississippi, hundreds of projects for leading retail clients, dozens of national restaurant and hospitality clients and a myriad of apartment complexes, entertainment venues, pharmacies, convenience stores and other private development projects.

Transportation

Transportation is the movement of people and goods between locations. Safe, efficient and effective transportation systems enable mobility and trade, both of which are essential to social and economic development, improvement and advancement.CHA aims to enhance our nation's infrastructure, ensuring goods are shipped, safety and services provided, and the economy vitalized. Our transportation specialists plan, design, and help maintain and construct our nation's most valued infrastructure assets by providing solutions for public and private transportation owners, agencies and authorities in more than 16 states.

Water/Wastewater

Ensuring water is clean and safe is one of the most important services that each community can provide. To that end, CHA has developed thousands of water-related projects, each taking into account our clients' unique environmental, water quality, permitability, and funding concerns. Our resume covers hundreds of projects, miles of pipelines, acres of treatment ponds, and an army of satisfied clients.Within our ranks are true experts - professionals able to assess, plan, design, and construct the required infrastructure. Our comprehensive water-related offerings extend from CSO and stormwater solutions to dam safety, solid waste, wastewater treatment, and water supply services.

Electrical Engineering

The 21st century is powered by electronics. Without well-designed efficient lighting, security, and telecommunication systems, even the brightest, most alluring facilities are left in the dark. Our electrical professionals specialize in the design of lighting, power distribution, emergency power, fire alarm, security, lightning protection, instrumentation and control, and telecommunication systems. Our staff consists of recognized industry professionals with careers spanning decades. They have a reputation for ensuring regulatory compliance while crafting durable energy efficient systems.

Environmental Engineering

When it comes to environmental issues, the goal is always to minimize risk. CHA achieves this goal by having intimate knowledge of environmental regulations and properly assessing site conditions and applicable mitigation approaches. We understand your goals and clearly communicate with you through the course of your sensitive environmental project. We provide creative solutions to help clients investigate environmental problems, design cleanup solutions, and comply with regulatory requirements.Environmental, health & safety services include: Air Testing/Permitting, Hazardous Material Building Assessment, Health/Safety, Site Investigations, Environmental Permitting & Compliance, Remediationm Ecological Services, Landfill Design & Closure Services.

Mechanical Engineering

CHA creates state-of-the-art mechanical systems that prioritize energy efficiency without sacrificing strength or ramping up costs. Our team consists of industry leaders who have valuable hands-on experience as plant managers and engineers in industrial settings. We offer complete mechanical, electrical and plumbing (MEP) engineering and design/construction services for companies throughout the manufacturing sector as well as a variety of public, private and institutional clients. Our professionals will perform a thorough analysis of your systems and utilize proven methods to optimize performance. Software utilized includes Revit, Cloudworks, Algor Pipe Stress Analysis, Trane Trace modeling, Elite Fire & ACAD.

Project Management/Construction Management

CHA works closely with and on behalf of our clients to ensure the on-time, on-budget, high-quality completion of design and construction projects. We actively lead a project and support the owner from preliminary planning and design through construction and project close-out with a focus on three core priorities: schedule, cost and quality.Our services provide our clients with the tools needed to successfully manage their projects. Our team will consult on assembling the full project team, including onboarding the contractor and managing the construction through to stabilized occupancy. Our project managers will oversee budgets and schedules and provide onsite representation with keen eyes and ears on every aspect of the design and construction. We'll ask the right questions, help determine the best delivery methods, provide solid recommendations, report on progress and decision points, and bring in additional services and reviews when required.

EDUCATION AND LICENSURE

Architecture

    Meet required degree of Architecture.
  • Attending a full time matriculated and nationally accredited Bachelor orGraduate program.
  • Completed one full year of college (rising sophomore).
  • Candidates going into their junior or senior year of college are preferred.
  • May 2021 graduates will not be accepted for CHA's Internship program.

Civil Engineering

  • Meet required degree of Civil Engineering.
  • Attending a full time matriculated and nationally accredited Bachelor orGraduate program.
  • Completed one full year of college (rising sophomore).
  • Candidates going into their junior or senior year of college are preferred.
  • May 2021 graduates will not be accepted for CHA's Internship program.

Electrical Engineering

  • Meet required degree ofElectrical Engineering.
  • Attending a full time matriculated and nationally accredited Bachelor orGraduate program.

SKILLS, EXPERIENCE AND QUALIFICATIONS

Architecture
