POSITION SUMMARY The Events and Activities Manager is responsible for providing organization and leadership for year-round resort-based events and activities. Activities include tubing, Nordic skiing, ice skating, UTV and snowmobile tours, the outdoor climbing wall, indoor climbing gym and summer activities. Position requires assisting with planning and execution of resort-wide events, including managing the event crew team members. This is a flex-year round benefit eligible position with a salary range of $52,000 - $55,000 annually.
ESSENTIAL DUTIES
Oversee the day-to-day administration and operation of the resort's event and activity programming
Provide leadership, support, coaching and growth opportunities for the activities supervisors
Build and execute a recruiting plan for seasonal staff, in collaboration with HR. Provide ongoing feedback, coaching, training and performance feedback throughout the employee life cycle
Build and maintain staff schedules for activity and event programming
Audit and approve team member timecards for completeness and accuracy
Communicate internally and externally to manage guest activity registrations to maintain excellent guest and employee rapport, and ensure guest satisfaction remains at the highest level possible
Help implement guest satisfaction (NPS) goals and training to support those goals. Assist with guest communication related to their experience and make programming adjustments to improve guest satisfaction
Assist the Senior Manager in developing and implementing Guest Experience System (GES) templates and training and plan for each activity and event as needed
Assist with planning and execution of new activities and events
Maintain the highest safety standards and code compliance for guests and team members
Provide task lists, planning and supervision to scheduled Event Crew team members during setup, execution, and breakdown of events
Step in to daily activities operations as needed, in both summer and winter seasons, to support activities teams
Serve as mountain operations support for on-hill events and activities including events sponsored by Stratton Winter Sports Club, Stratton Mountain Ski, Bike & Ride School and external partners
Work with various resort divisions, which may include Mountain Operations, Retail, Food & Beverage, Marketing and Lodging to best utilize assets and resources, in a collaborative and cooperative environment
Communicate with third party contractors as needed
Complete &/or facilitate monthly IT security trainings, facility audits, safety trainings, guest service and other resort trainings and ensure subordinate team members do the same
Attend and participate in daily/weekly/monthly meetings as required
Assist in developing and managing current fiscal budget guidelines and targets. Proactively manage expenses and payroll expenses; study costs, look for irregularities.

EDUCATION & EXPERIENCE REQUIREMENTS
Education:
Highschool Diploma or equivalent required
Experience:
2+ years of related experience with event planning, event execution or resort operations, preferred
2+ years previous supervisorial, managerial or leadership experience, required
QUALIFICATIONS, KNOWLEDGE, SKILL AND ABILITY REQUIREMENTS
Excellent communication skills, both written and verbal
Computer skills - Microsoft Office Suite and professional electronic etiquette

PHYSICAL DEMANDS AND WORKING CONDITIONS
This position may be required to work evenings, weekends, and holidays. Working hours will vary due to event schedules. Flexibility in availability is essential.
Mountain Environment:
The primary physical environment in which this position works is out of doors with a high exposure level to cold, snow, wind, rain, bugs, sun, high altitude, extreme heights, lightning, etc...
The degree of strenuous activity within the job is considered to be high. Often lifting a weight of 50 pounds throughout the day is common.
Additional strenuous physical activity may include walking or hiking upon uneven, challenging terrain with heavy tools or equipment.
Exposure to: Chemicals required for cleaning, de-greasing, and painting Ultra Violet radiation from the sun enhanced through lack of atmospheric filtration at work altitude. Fumes produced in activities ranging from cleaning to painting to fabrication of metal products. Noise generated by snowmobiles, lift equipment, and tools may require hearing protection to be worn.
Talking and hearing occur continuously in the process of communicating with guests, supervisors and other employees.
Vision occurs continuously with the most common visual functions being those of near vision and depth perception.
