About the Team:

As a Financial Analyst, FP&A of an established FP&A organization, you will partner with several functions & their senior leadership teams. You will partner with the teams to ensure operational plans are aligned with financial goals and create transparency and deliver important insights and suggestions that allows us to make the right decisions to propel the business forward. You will work with the team to deliver insights, guide annual and long range planning, budgeting, forecasting and monthly plan vs. actual performance analysis. You will also coordinate with other Finance team members to guide the monthly closing and reporting process.

Responsibilities:

  • Be a trusted advisor to leaders of assigned departments and lead their budgeting and forecasting activities, including long range planning and execution and ensuring operational plans are following financial budgets and forecasts.
  • Prepare and lead the quarterly financial review of results meetings with the business department's leaders, CFO, and finance leadership team.
  • Provide transparency into actual results and forward-looking analyses, including foresight into investment needs, margin trends and competitive benchmarking.
  • Analyze historical performance to understand trends and main causes. Make recommendations to improve performance and processes based on findings.
  • Develop junior analysts
  • Collaborate with teams across the Company, including parent company teams, Accounting, Tax, HR, Pricing, Commercial and Operations
  • Support ad hoc projects and strategic projects

Qualifications:

  • Role involves building relationships across the organization, communicating and presenting ideas to management and influencing decision-making
  • Experience turning financial data into relevant insights that support sound decisions
  • Experience working with Financial Planning & Reporting tools
  • Promote for process improvement
  • Extraordinary Excel / PowerPoint / financial modeling skills
  • Undergraduate or graduate degree in Finance, Economics, or Accounting
  • Minimum 2+ years of relevant experience in FP&A
  • Experience with Adaptive or similar (Anaplan, Vena, Netsuite Financial Planning) forecasting tool

The salary range posted below refers only to positions that will be physically based in New York City. As with all roles, Medidata sets ranges based on a number of factors including function, level, candidate expertise and experience, and geographic location. Pay ranges for candidates in locations other than New York City, may differ based on the local market data in that region. The base salary pay range for this position is $66,000 - $88,000.

Base pay is one part of the Total Rewards that Medidata provides to compensate and recognize employees for their work. Most sales positions are eligible for a commission on the terms of applicable plan documents, and many of Medidata's non-sales positions are eligible for annual bonuses. Medidata follows a hybrid office policy in which employees who live within 25 miles of a Medidata office are expected to work on site a certain number of days per week (with the specific in-office days to be designated by your team). On July 8, 2024, employees will be expected to work on site at least 2 days per week. This will increase to at least 3 days per week beginning January 2, 2025.
