CHA Consulting Inc. is currently seeking a Senior Water/Wastewater Engineer to join our Water Resources group in our Albany, NY; Syracuse, NY; or Rochester, NY office.

Ensuring water is clean and safe is one of the most important services that each community can provide. To that end, CHA has developed thousands of water-related projects, each taking into account our clients' unique environmental, water quality, permitting, and funding concerns. Our water and wastewater offerings include services to public, private, industrial, and institutional clients. This includes the planning, design, and construction administration for a wide range of projects encompassing water treatment, wastewater treatment, storage, pumping, and piping.

The Senior Water/Wastewater Engineer, a key role at CHA, leads the technical execution of projects within his/her discipline and provides expert consultation in one or more areas of the respective field of engineering. At CHA, our Senior Engineers plan, schedule, conduct and coordinate detailed phases of a project independently with other engineering disciplines and project management staff. This key role provides guidance, mentorship, and technical review of work completed by junior level staff. The Senior Engineer provides technical development of proposals and external presentations (i.e., clients, public, regulatory agency, etc.)

The Senior Water/Wastewater Engineer resolves highly complex technical issues, and continuously monitors the progress and performance on a project to ensure efficient production and uncover potential problems. The Senior Engineer recognizes technical discrepancies in analytical results and makes appropriate corrections following standard procedures and recommends alterations to development and design to improve quality of design.

Bachelor's degree in Engineering required; Masters degree preferred
• Professional Engineer License (PE) required

• Minimum of 10 years progressive engineering experience leading and designing water and wastewater projects is required
• Expert knowledge of the respective engineering discipline(s) with a proven ability to practically apply best practices
• Understands QA/QC procedures and understands basic business practices and laws related to engineering
• Ability to demonstrate leadership skills and effectively work in a collaborative environment; proven ability to lead a team
• Desire to mentor staff.
• Effective verbal and written communication skills with the ability to adapt communication style to suit various audiences
• Proficiency with MS Office software required
• Active role in a professional engineering society/organization preferred
