Under the direction of the Chief Medical Officer and in collaboration with Health Management Vice Presidents, the Sr. Director, Health Management Transformation is responsible for driving Health Management transformation to achieve a higher level of excellence to better serve MVP customers. Areas of focus include:
  • Quality
  • Case Management
  • Utilization Management
  • Pharmacy
  • Clinical Provider Strategy
  • Risk Adjustment

An influencer who plays a critical part in achieving our vision, the Sr. Director, Health Management Transformation is responsible for driving transformation to ensure the department delivers on MVP's strategic, cultural, and business goals. Consistent with The MVP Way, they challenge teams to deliver innovative solutions and high-quality outcomes, on-time and within budget.

Leading with an entrepreneurial and innovative spirit, the Sr. Director, Health Management Transformation plays an integral role aligning the department with the ever-evolving digital health care world. They champion the use of digital technology and agile practices to cultivate a digital mindset and increase operational efficiency.

In partnership with key stakeholders, both internal and external, the Sr. Director, Health Management Transformation works to transform processes, adopt/utilize digital tool sets and modern platforms to reimagine the way that we deliver value to MVP customers. They drive organizational change by taking high-level strategies and aligning them for the team(s) to execute.

Responsibilities
  • Cultivate a growth mindset within the team; encourage problem-solving, strategic thinking, customer-orientation.
  • Work with key stakeholders to understand needs and opportunities to advance MVP corporate strategies within Health Management.
  • Represent Health Management as a key member of strategic initiatives and serve as a critical resource to staff to translate strategy into actionable plans.
  • Leverage Lean methodology to build a culture of continuous process improvement across Health Management.
  • Partner with VP, Business Transformation to drive organizational change management initiatives based on Denison Culture Survey data.
  • Liaise with leadership of other teams such as Growth, IT, Customer Engagement, and Operations to ensure alignment.
  • Support Health Management operations in various capacities; other duties as assigned.
  • Develops and manages staff who collaborate to advance Health Management operations in various capacities with a core focus on customer satisfaction and efficiency.

Required Skills:
  • Ability to influence both horizontally and vertically to keep projects on track.
  • Proven ability to leverage technology to streamline process and eliminate manual effort/waste.
  • Demonstrated ability to lead diverse teams of various sizes, including remote, internal & external resources.
  • Entrepreneurial mindset geared toward innovation and continuous improvement.
  • Ability to manage multiple priorities with autonomy and independence.
  • Strong leadership skills with ability to function tactically with business areas but also comfortable with senior level presentations.
  • Excellent critical thinking, problem solving, and organizational skills.
  • Ability to formulate and express ideas clearly and effectively in verbal and written presentations.
  • Skilled in decision-making, conflict resolution and meeting facilitation.
  • Ability to work collaboratively and professionally.
  • Working knowledge of emerging technology and industry trends.
  • Desire to embrace and apply the MVP Way.

Education:
  • Master's degree or higher in business, health policy, or a health-related field

Experience:
  • Minimum 7 years health plan experience
  • Leadership experience in digital transformation
  • Experience in designing, developing, and implementing complex strategic initiatives
  • Proven success in leading/facilitating a diverse group of stakeholders
  • Experience with leading or working within product teams
  • Strong project management and business analysis background.
  • Experience interfacing external vendors, partners, etc. Process engineering discipline
