As an MV Electrical I, you will provide skilled craftsmanship for maintenance and installation of electrical systems.
Assemble, install, test, and maintain electrical or electronic wiring, equipment, appliances, apparatus, and fixtures, using hand tools and power tools
Connect wires to circuit breakers, transformers, or other components
Test electrical systems and continuity of circuits in electrical wiring, equipment, and fixtures, using testing devices such as ohmmeters, voltmeters, and oscilloscopes, to ensure compatibility and safety of system
Installs, repairs, and maintains motors, transformers, generators, lights, appliances, circuits, wiring, and other electrical system equipment and components in compliance with electrical codes, standards, and regulations
Studies plans, drawings, specifications, and work orders to determine work requirement and sequence of repairs and/or installations
Repairs and maintains high voltage systems
Organizes work by receiving and studying work orders; gathering tools and supplies
Reading prints, layout work and installing new service
Repairs electrical problems by replacing faulty parts and components
Maintains electrical systems by conducting system tests; completing preventive maintenance requirements
Keeps supplies ready by placing orders
Maintains safe work environment by following standards and procedures; complying with codes
Updates job knowledge by participating in educational opportunities; reading technical publications
Accomplishes maintenance and organization mission by completing related results as needed
Contributes to team effort by accomplishing related results as needed

Ability to frequently sit, stand, walk crouch, kneel, climb and periodically lift up to 50 lbs
Must be able to operate equipment such as: Terminating tools, crispers, wire cutters, pipe benders, basic hand tools

Education
A high school diploma or GED is preferred
Trade or technical school certification/diploma is required
Apprentice aptitude test is required
Union specific training is required
Project specific training is required
Minimum of two years related experience
