Position Overview

C&S Companies is seeking a dynamic and experienced Transportation Practice Builder to join our team in Albany, NY. As a Transportation Practice Builder, you will play a pivotal role in expanding our transportation practice, developing client relationships, and leading strategic initiatives to enhance our presence in the market.

Position Responsibilities

  • Business Development:
    • Identify and pursue new business opportunities in the transportation sector.
    • Develop and maintain strong client relationships to understand their needs and deliver tailored solutions.
    • Collaborate with internal teams to create winning proposals and presentations.
  • Strategic Leadership:
    • Lead the development and execution of strategic plans for the transportation practice.
    • Provide thought leadership to guide the growth and direction of the practice.
    • Stay abreast of industry trends, regulations, and emerging technologies.
  • Team Collaboration:
    • Work closely with cross-functional teams to ensure seamless project delivery.
    • Foster a collaborative and innovative culture within the transportation practice.
    • Mentor and develop staff to enhance their skills and capabilities.
  • Financial Management:
    • Oversee financial performance and budgets for transportation projects.
    • Ensure projects are delivered on time and within budget while maintaining high-quality standards.
  • Utilize safe work practices in accordance with federal, state, local, and company standards.
  • Communicate incidents, accidents, near misses, potential hazards, and unsafe working conditions to a supervisor or the Health and Safety Department as soon as identified.

Skills/Education/Experience

  • Bachelor's or Master's degree in Civil Engineering or a related field.
  • Professional Engineer (PE) license in the state of New York.
  • Minimum of 10 years of experience in transportation engineering.
  • Proven track record in business development and client relationship management.
  • Strong leadership and communication skills.
  • Knowledge of local transportation policies, regulations, and market dynamics.
  • Experience with project management and financial oversight.

Estimated Compensation Range: $120,640-$145,600/year*

*Actual compensation may vary based on related work experience, geographical location and market conditions, education/training, certifications, and other credentials, as well as applicable knowledge and skills.
