We are currently seeking a Structural Engineering Lead to join our Infrastructure - Water/Wastewater Team at any CHA office location.

YOUR IMPACT

Clean and safe water and wastewater management is vital for every community's well-being. CHA delivers environmentally friendly and cost-effective water, wastewater and stormwater projects. We offer full engineering and support services for industrial and municipal systems from initial planning through permitting, design, bidding, construction administration, start-up, certification, and ongoing operational assistance.

At CHA, our Structural Engineering Lead provides specialized support and expertise to the team. They utilize advanced judgment and analysis techniques for the design development, implementation and technical analysis of various systems to implement new products, or changes to an existing scheme, to suit individual client needs. This key role is responsible for planning, scheduling, conducting and coordinating detailed phases of a project independently with other engineering disciplines and project management staff. The Structural Engineering Lead mentors junior staff members and provides technical review of their work as needed.

The Structural Engineering Lead recommends alterations to development and design to improve quality of products and/or procedures as well as selects proper procedures to self-check his/her own work for completeness and accuracy in technical reports and calculations. The Structural Engineering Lead identifies, develops, and gathers technical resources necessary to complete assignments, and continuously monitors the progress and performance of the engineering design development against the project work plan.

REQUIREMENTS
    Bachelor's Degree in Engineering required; Structural preferred
  • Professional Engineer (PE) license required
  • Minimum of 4 years of discipline structural experience required
  • Technically astute and strategic in thinking to manage the activity within the team
  • Demonstrates a strong knowledge of the structural engineering with the proven ability to practically apply engineering best practices
  • Ability to stamp drawings, experience in foundations, reinforced concrete, and masonry required
  • Advanced proficiency with engineering, computational, and modeling software (Revit, AutoCAD, MicroStation, etc.)
  • Familiar with QA/QC procedures and understands basic business practices and laws related to engineering
  • Ability to manage budgets and schedule deliveries is a plus
  • Experience in people and or task management is preferred
  • Effective verbal and written communication skills with the ability to adapt communication style to suit various audiences
  • Proficiency with MS Office software required
  • An active role in a professional engineering society/organization preferred
  • Ability to travel (~5% of the time)
