POSITION SUMMARY
Mountain Bike Trail Crew members are an integral part of the success of Stratton's Bike Park. Trail Crew members are responsible for the maintenance of our existing trails. The Trail Crew is also responsible for creating and maintaining the best possible riding experience for guests at the park. Trail Crew members must have a passion for mountain biking to ensure that they are able to assess trail quality and how it relates to the experience of the rider. This is a summer seasonal position that pays $20.00/hour.

ESSENTIAL DUTIES
- The primary purpose of this job is to maintain existing mountain bike trails on the mountain while following guidelines and best practices.
- This job will involve the use of shovels, rakes, and other common power and non-power tools related to trail work.
- Mowing, brush clearing, weed trimming, bridge staging and repair
- Operate company vehicles/ATVs.
- This team is responsible for upholding the highest quality trail product possible while understanding their trail work reflects themselves as trail builders and the Stratton Bike Park as a whole.
- Work with other departments at the resort to assist with mountain projects whenever its possible without effecting the completion of weekly bike trail maintenance.
- Work with Sinuosity, our Trail Builders, to assist with completion of new mountain bike trails whenever its possible without effecting the completion of weekly bike trail maintenance.
- Must meet and exceed departmental key expectations.
- Compliance with all company policies and procedures as well as any regulatory requirements
- As part of the Bike Park Department, this position may require work duties outside of normal trail work such as assisting with events, patrol, bike school, lift operations, and other duties as assigned.

EDUCATION & EXPERIENCE REQUIREMENTS

Experience:
- Previous bike trail construction and maintenance experience preferred.
- Experience riding mountain bikes required, both downhill and cross country preferred.
QUALIFICATIONS, KNOWLEDGE, SKILL AND ABILITY REQUIREMENTS
- Must be at least 18 years of age
- Must have a valid US driver's license, and able to meet the Stratton driver's license history standards for insurability
PHYSICAL DEMANDS AND WORKING CONDITIONS
This position may be required to work evenings, weekends and holidays.
Mountain Environment:
- The primary physical environment in which this position works is out of doors with a high exposure level to cold, heat, wind, rain, bugs, sun, high altitude, extreme heights, lightning, etc...
- The degree of strenuous activity within the job is considered to be high. Often lifting a weight of 50 pounds throughout the day is common.
- Additional strenuous physical activity may include walking or hiking upon uneven, challenging terrain with heavy tools or equipment.
- Exposure to: Chemicals required for cleaning, de-greasing, and painting Ultra Violet radiation from the sun enhanced through lack of atmospheric filtration at work altitude. Fumes produced in activities ranging from cleaning to painting to fabrication of metal products. Noise generated by snowmobiles, lift equipment, and tools may require hearing protection to be worn.
- Talking and hearing occur continuously in the process of communicating with guests, supervisors and other employees.
- Vision occurs continuously with the most common visual functions being those of near vision and depth perception.
