Are you an aspiring news producer who has a passion for weather and is eager to immerse yourself in the industry? Look no further! We are seeking a Freelance Production Assistant to work on the FOX Weather Programming team. This one-year Rotational Program provides a unique opportunity to experience morning/weekend, midday, and primetime weather programming, with each possessing a distinct strategy and feel.

A SNAPSHOT OF YOUR RESPONSIBILITIES
Actively pitch a variety of stories from breaking weather news to fascinating features on weather-related themes
Assist our production team in building segments, managing breaking news, and handling long-term projects
Find the best sound bites, video, and graphics for the most informative and compelling segments
Write banners, edit video, and occasionally book guests, all while quickly responding to breaking weather news
Quickly identify strong user-generated content from multiple sources, ensuring the best elements are incorporated into FOX Weather coverage
Collaborate with Associate Producers, Producers, and Senior Producers to create content
WHAT YOU WILL NEED
Bachelor's degree in journalism or related field, or equivalent experience
Previous internships or job experience in related roles
Passionate about the weather domain; previous experience is a plus
Ability to meet tight deadlines and handle multiple tasks effectively
Proficient in leveraging social media platforms
Exceptional communication skills to work in collaboration with team members
