CHA Consulting, Inc. is currently seeking an Engineering Designer I to join our Power & Manufacturing - Utilities Infrastructure/Electric Distribution Team at our office in Colonie, NY.

YOUR IMPACT

CHA's distribution design engineers have the deep experience and skillset to plan, design, and permit sustainable electric distribution infrastructure and all types of utility distribution systems. To realize the dependable, cost-effective interconnection of overhead and underground assets, we visualize, analyze and optimize how the system functions with itself and outside systems, and improve energy delivery and grid resilience.

The Engineering Designer I assists with the research, preparation, and creation of various types of contract or construction drawings and documents. This Engineering Designer I collaborates with design teams on multiple projects in a timely and cost-effective manner to meet client, contractual and company requirements.

At CHA, our Engineering Designer I attains knowledge of the engineering discipline standards, codes, and systems through assisting with contract document preparation. The Engineering Designer I examines drawings for errors. The Engineering Designer I uses drawing production software (REVIT, AutoCAD, MicroStation etc.) to create construction documents.

REQUIREMENTS
    Associates Degree in Engineering, Engineering Technology, Engineering Science or related technical field required
  • No prior experience required; however, prior internship(s) and/or applicable coursework preferred
  • Gas distribution experience, AUD experience a plus
  • Familiar with discipline-based software (REVIT, AutoCAD, MicroStation, etc.)
  • Effective verbal and written communication skills with the ability to adapt communication style to suit various audiences
  • Strong work ethic and desire to work in a collaborative team environment with the willingness to assist senior staff
SALARY RANGE:

$56,000 - $65,000

Salary is based on a variety of factors, including, but not limited to, qualifications, experience, education, licenses, specialty, training, and fair market evaluation based on industry standards.
