Job Description:

Airbus US Manufacturing Facility is looking for a Transformation Project/Program manager to join our team based in Mobile, AL

The Transformation Project/Program manager will be responsible for leading projects using project & program management tools and techniques. Accountable for effective decision making to ensure risks are mitigated as well as scope and schedules goals are met. Responsible for managing the project finances to ensure budgets are maintained and resources are utilized properly. Lead cross functional teams to achieve project milestones and support stakeholders using change management processes.

The team at the Airbus U.S. Manufacturing facilities assemble the finest aircraft in the world, along two (soon to be three) production lines for the A220 and A320 Family aircraft. Nearby on 'Airbus Way' you will find the Airbus U.S. Manufacturing Facility for commercial aircraft. Opened at the Mobile Aeroplex at Brookley in 2015, the facility produces A320 Family aircraft and added a second product line for the A220 in 2019. The facility, which strengthens the U.S. aerospace industry, is part of Airbus' strategy to enhance its global competitiveness by meeting the growing needs of its customers in the United States and beyond.

Your Challenges:

  • Leading the program and the project team and ensuring project execution On-Time/On-Quality/On-Cost

  • Put together business cases using financial and operational data

  • Establishing the program/project schedule and control of the program/project using earned value management

  • Definition & management of the industrial set-up of the projects to include the work breakdown structure

  • Establishing the program/project governance and organizing project teams/work package leaders into the organizational breakdown structure

  • Management of project resources within the company's matrix organization

  • Assist in financial planning, cost analysis and control for projects operational and capitalized expenditures

  • Control and reporting of the program/project status to customers and to the internal organization

  • Management of Risks & Opportunities

  • Analysis of As-Is conditions and defining and developing the To-Be solution

  • Creating and implementing the program/project customer acceptance plan

  • Tracking tasks and actions against the project baseline

  • Establish KPI's to ensure project targets are being maintained

  • Manage program/project milestones as well as prepare and present milestone gate reviews with senior leadership steering committee

  • Stakeholder engagement and communication plans maintained

  • Responsible for internal and external customer contact

  • Leading improvement projects in the FAL Mobile in collaboration with various department Production, Quality, Logistics, Manufacturing Engineering

  • Change management practices to be utilized in the deployment of the projects

  • Monitor the performance of the deployed program/projects

  • Collect lessons learnt and best practices

  • Develop and implement strategy for the program team.

  • Lead creation of the program management plan.

  • Oversee all activities associated with the program to ensure the program achieves its goals.

  • Identify and understand program objectives.

  • Manage timelines and deliverables.

  • Identify and assign program team members.

  • Identify projects needed to achieve program objectives.

  • Coordinate interdependent projects that are part of the program.

  • Communicate with project managers.

  • Monitor program activities.

  • Measure and monitor key performance indicators (KPIs) and return on investment (ROI).

  • Resolve problems and delays in the program.

  • Manage program budget.

  • Manage resources across all projects within the program.

  • Help to ensure collaboration among project teams.

  • Manage program risk and coordinate corrective measures.

  • Document the program.

  • Identify and manage program adherence to standards and governance.

  • Manage stakeholder communications.

  • Report on program performance to executive team and organization leaders.

  • Ensure that the program is aligned with organizational business goals and objectives.

Your boarding pass:

  • Bachelor's degree in Engineering, Business or Management

  • 8-10 years proven experience working in project and program management

  • Preferred / PMP Certification or AIB Bronze Level Certifications

  • Ability to work in G Suite

  • Strong knowledge of project and project management tools

  • Excellent organizational and time management skills

  • Ability to galvanize a team together to reach the project goals

  • Demonstrated effective communication skills

  • Strong analytical and problem solving skills in math and science

  • Able to work independently and prioritize duties with minimal supervision in order to meet deadlines

  • Preference for experience using LBIP+/DMAIC methodology
