NPI Team Lead

Saugerties, NY

The NPI (New Product Introduction) Team Lead is responsible for providing direction on the shop floor to the NPI team to ensure new products are introduced efficiently and meet quality standards. This position serves as the key point of contact between various functions, focusing on maintaining product quality and meeting project timelines. Additionally, the NPI Team Lead is responsible for training team members in NPI processes, ensuring that all team members adhere to the required quality and process standards.

Essential Duties and Responsibilities:

  • Executes the NPI build plan by directing a team of specialists, ensuring new products are introduced on time and meet quality standards.
  • Drives a safety-first culture within the team and leads by example.
  • Facilitates training for the NPI team, providing supervision and guidance as required.
  • Communicates progress updates and manages troubleshooting across teams and functional areas.
  • Maintains an organized work area (5S) including workstations, equipment, and walkways.
  • Participates and contributes to continuous improvement projects to drive efficiency and innovation.
  • Maintains positive team morale with an open atmosphere of teamwork and cooperation.
  • Acts as the subject matter expert for NPI processes.
  • Maintains punctual, regular, and predictable attendance; works collaboratively in a team environment with a spirit of cooperation.
  • Responsible for labor transaction maintenance functions for the team and Encompix on routing operations.
  • Responsible for the performance management cycle for all direct staff.
  • Respectfully takes direction from the NPI Manager and performs other duties as assigned.

Education level

  • High School diploma minimum, Associate degree is a benefit.

Relevant Previous experience

  • 3-5 years assembly experience required.
  • 1-3 years of lead or supervisory experience

Knowledge areas/Skills

  • Ability to read and interpret engineered drawings and diagrams.
  • Experience with hand tools and small power tools.

Other requirements

  • Ability to lead and supervise a small group.
  • Good communication skills, ability to motivate and build team moral.
  • Knowledge of Encompix and ERP systems beneficial.

Salary Range: $32 - $36 per hour

Compensation may vary outside of this range depending on a number of factors, including a candidate's qualifications, skills, competencies, experience, and location.
