| Essential Duties and Job Functions: | We have the following, exciting field - based Medical Science opportunity within our Medical Affairs Division. The incumbent is an experienced, well organized, results-oriented healthcare professional who will develop ongoing professional relationships and provide scientific support to key healthcare decision makers in academic institutions and community healthcare providers throughout assigned geography. Key Responsibilities: * Respond to clinical inquiries regarding marketed or developmental Gilead products. * Develop and present complex scientific and clinical data for these products. * Identify and develop regional and national opinion leaders to support Gilead products and train Gilead approved speakers through personal contacts and on-site visits. * Establish strong relationships with opinion leaders, clinical investigators and providers at academic and non-academic settings. * Provide sales force with training at national and regional levels. * Work on Gilead phase 4 programs that include collaboration with investigators and Gilead personnel. * Select sites for both phase 4 and other clinical trials. * Anticipate obstacles and difficulties that may arise in the field and resolve them in a collaborative manner. * Work collaboratively with Gilead personnel in Sales, Marketing, Clinical Research, Global Safety and Medical Communication. * Utilize scientific resources to deliver impactful presentations in a variety of settings. * Travel to appointments, meetings and conferences on a frequent and regular basis, occasionally with short notice. * Must have the ability to work as a member of several teams that may overlap such as national MS team, regional sales team, national accounts, and others. * Well-developed experience in preparing and delivering presentations is required. *Experience in the management or investigation of clinical trials is required. |
| Knowledge, Experience and Skills: | * Advanced degrees (M.D., D.O., Pharm. D., PhD are preferred, certified N.P., P.A. considered) with a minimum of 3-5 years of experience in healthcare or pharmaceutical industry * Two to four years experience in clinical /research arena; * Excellent oral and written communication skills and interpersonal skills (including ability to network) * Excellent project management ability * Thorough knowledge of HIV * Excellent judgment and initiative are required * Advanced knowledge of Microsoft Office suite (Word, PowerPoint, Excel, Access, Outlook) is required * Must have knowledge of and be willing to comply with all regulatory/compliance policies. * Must be able to maintain a current professional licensure consistent with degree in state of residence. * Ability to travel (min. 50% overnight travel required) |
